I bought these to replace an old pair that stopped giving me reliable results. These came promptly and have given me accurate and reliable measurements every time. Highly recommend!

I needed this for a single job so I didn¡®t want to pay much. It¡®s my fault, I should have read carefully, you can only measure to hundredths of an inch. Almost any caliper job will need thousandths of an inch. This can¡®t do that. There is no wheel or knob to assist with fine measurements. It is made of plastic, so be careful how you use it so it doesn¡®t get damaged or flex. Repeatability seemed a little iffy. Close the jaws, zero it out, move the jaws and come close them again. It didn¡®t always read zero again. Just make sure this works for your job before you buy it.

I only paid a few bucks for this thing so I guess I got what I paid for, but I’ve never actually a caliper gauge that didn’t have a thumb screw to lock it in place, so it never occurred to me to check for one in the product pics/description when I ordered this one. There’s enough resistance on it to keep it from sliding off the mark as long as you’re gentle but… just sayin’

Note: there are five different versions of this caliper in this listing. The differences are not just color, some are plastic some steel. Some are accurate to 0.1 mm some to 0.01mm.I got the cheapest. Currently $10. Plastic/”carbon fiber”. Accurate to .1mmCon:No case.Readings in mm/in but not fractional inches. (More expensive ones have this)For the price, it’s great. If you want more durable, get steel. If you want more resolution, buy a version with that.If you want the best, buy mitutoyo, but be prepared to spend several hundred dollars, not ten.I don’t have anothe caliper to check accuracy, but it is accurate on repeat measurements. For a cheap caliper, this is great.

I needed one of these for doing little jobs around the house, measuring things my measuring tape is incapable of doing, as well as just having for the future.Absolutely no issues with it the countless times I’ve used it. I think it reads really close to spot on, as the measurements I’ve submitted to places to get things made using this tool have always been spot on.The construction of the unit isn’t of the most high quality, but if you’re using it for it’s intended purpose, I don’t see why you would need something bulletproof. It’ll measure anything from 0-6″, and the ability to zero it out when the calipers are close is perfect. Would recommend to anyone, DIYer to professional use.

It can be used, but it is not recommended for important measurements such as industrial measurement and important designs .
