I’m afraid I made this more difficult that it should have been. The instructions worked fine, but I caused myself a lot of aggravation and time because I was not careful, when trying to actually use the lock, to set the combination with the shackle pointing down, using the provided raised mark on the back end of the “cone”. I was embarrassingly dumb.

Good lock

This was purchased for a chain link fence gate. It fit perfectly though the hole in the latch. The length of the lock allowed easy access to the dial- by adults. Very easy to use.

My husband surprised me with this already on the door, wWe have a storm door, the main door is always open but sometimes it is better to lock it. This is perfect for us.

Instructions were very clear and understandable. Programs/adjusts to custom lock digits easily. Perfect for my outdoor barn door window shutter application. Reviews above discuss instructions and difficulty understanding how to use, maybe things have changed over time but not my issue at all. Also review complains about not being secure enough; it’s descriptions says what it’s used for and works perfectly. Doesn’t say use for front gate at Fort Knox. I highly recommend this product. Ordering 7 more for the rest of the windows. It will be very nice having all the same combinations for the hunting lodge windows.

No fault of the lock itself’ But it is too long for what I needed it for. That¡¯s totally fine but the only issue that I really think would make things easier is if they put some sort of marker on each hole where the lock meets the u shaped part. Like maybe if they were to put a white paint mark around the entrance circle part that goes into the lock. That sounds confusing’basically I kept getting confused about how the U part fit into the lock and kept flipping it around, every time I had to use it. I guess that¡¯s a pretty easy fix at home but the lock still was too long for what I needed it for which is totally my fault. My suggestion would be to take a white paint marker and mark which whole goes to which part of the “U”‘ otherwise it¡¯s super nice looking just make sure you have enough room to use it on an outdoor gate. I will definitely figure out a different used for it.

I use this lock to secure my fence gate and I really like it. However I have owned two of these padlocks and with each one the combination rings couldn’t be turned after a brief time outside. I directed a light stream of WD-40 into the barrel, let it work for a few minutes, and all the moving parts became unstuck as a result of water displacement. A very easy fix.

It’s a little hard to work the combination dials with my fat fingers. I’m always turning two numbers at the same time. IKt would be great for a kids bike or locker. It wasn’t expensive, so it was worth the money.

I share a fence gate with three neighbors. The old lock was old and was a standard wood fence lock. We added a latch and this lock for added security. I can not speak for longevity as it has only been a few weeks
