- For 8 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 8 inches to 10 inches.
- For 10 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 10 inches to 12 inches.
- For 12 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 12 inches to 14 inches.
- For 14 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 14 inches to 16 inches.
- For 16 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 16 inches to 18 inches.
- For 18 inch shelf brackets, it’s better use wood board from 18 inches to 20 inches.

I ordered three of the smaller brackets not realizing the pricing was for a pair (2 per box). The smallest of the brackets arrived quickly and well packed. They seem to be very sturdy and well made. There should be no problem with them holding up a strong shelf or supporting a breakfast bar overhang in my case. I plan on using the short side of the brackets to support the horizontal face of my counter. Now that I have extra, I’m sure I can put them all to good use.
