I got this clamp for my husband as his other one had broken. His previous clamp was from a different company and had lasted a long time but lost its spring. I ordered this based on other reviews and the price was right. When it came, it did feel a little “cheap” and my husband had a harder time figuring out how to keep it clamped. Once he did figure that out (since it is different than what he has had in the past), he said it clamps and will hold. But because of the lighter feel of it, not sure how long it will last. But for the price, it was worth it and hopefully he will get plenty of use out of it.

As a beginning wood worker I realize how expensive this hobby can be, from buying big tools to the little tools, it adds up. I was thankful to stumble on Tekton products. I first bought Tekton hand clamps which worked out well, but I needed something bigger. I actually have two 12″, two 24″ and two 36″ of these now and couldn’t be happier. They are sturdy, easy to use and very inexpensive. For $9 each even if I only got a couple years use out of them I’d say they are worth it.I’ve since bought some other Tekton products and am still quite pleased.

I was hesitant to get these after reading the mixed reviews. I decided to get a few of the 30″ and the 12″ sizes. After using them for a while now I’m very satisfied.I have Irwin, DeWalt, harbor freight and Yost brand clamps, so I have quite a bit to compare these against. I would rate them as a middle of the road clamp in terms of quality and price. The bar is pretty solid so even the 30″ ones don’t bend too much when fully extended. The ratcheting mechanism is pretty good but a little weaker than some of the brands I mentioned above. The throat depth is a little less than others, but comparable to most standard clamps. My only complaint is that the release is a small push button that can be hard to release. The laver style used on other brands is definitely my preference.Overall I’m really happy with them.

Worked as expected. Feels cheaper than expected. Smaller than expected but was a good value.

I love mine! It’s truly mini, which is just plain cute. It’s also strong, and feels solid when clamped. The pads are flush and give a good grip. I am using them to hold together a miniature set for filming stop-motion animation. I clip walls to supports, or supports to the table, and hold the whole set together. I haven’t used it much, only for a few filmings, but so far so good. Yes, the trigger is small, but the whole thing is tiny so it’s appropriate to the scale of the rest of the clamp. I haven’t used it as a spreader, so I can’t comment on that, except it’s straightforward to reconfigure it to be a spreader.

I got these because sometimes a spring clamp doesn’t open enough to use in a small area. I’ve gotten cheap ones from Harbor Freight, but these are so much better than those. You can count on these to actually hold well. And the quick release button allows you to move the jaws freely up and down the bar, then they grab when you squeeze the handle, so getting them set in small spaces is easy. Good quality materials and assembly. They did a great job on these.

I bought these to clamp a hickory side panel onto a newly installed cabinet while glue dried and they worked flawlessly. As the cabinet was already on the wall the ability to flip the jaws of one clamp and make it into a spreader ended up being a critical feature for me (see picture). The nylon pads on the jaws also work very well and maintain their position without marring the object being clamped.Note that I also purchased Tekton’s smaller “TEKTON 39180 6-Inch by 1.5-Inch Ratchet Bar Clamp” which is extremely weak by comparison (the clamping mechanism would start slipping after only a small amount of pressure was applied). With these larger 2.5″ / 39181 clamps you can apply much more pressure and they still stay completely rigid and maintain a solid grip.I would guess that the Irwin’s clamps may last longer based on my previous experience with their tools, however, as these are half the price but still seem to be high quality I would recommend you give Tekton a try.

The first time I ordered these I paid about $4 and it was the full size (6″) clamp. It worked well, so I reordered but in the reorder for the same price, I got the mini clamp. It wouldn’t tighten and barely held things together. I’d recommend this product, just don’t get the mini clamp.

This speed clamp is pretty darn good for under $20.I do a lot of solo build-make projects and have learned to rely on speed clamps for that extra set of hands. In the past I used Irwins for about 3x what this one cost. This one puts out pretty decent psi for a speed clamp (if you need serious psi you have to go to an all steel bar clamp…but that’s a whole different thing and not nearly as easy to use one-handed).A very small negative is that the plastic parts look and feel cheapish — not sure how long they will hold up. The edges of the grip handle are a bit severe when clamping down hard with your hand. A good workaround is to wrap the handle with a rag — more comfortable when your hand is really bearing down. And the little red plastic end caps pop off at just about any provocation. But once pressure is applied they stay put. I guess super glue would fix that.All-in-all definitely worth the money.

Clamps items together and holds them in place with no problem.I needed to hold some items that were 13 inches wide. The 12 inch clamps weren’t big enough, so I had to go with this clamp, which is overkill. But, I’ll have it in the future when I need it for another job.My only con with this item is that you can clamp something straight on from above, but if you twist the clamp to lay it flat (and out of the way for what I was doing), the outer clamp isn’t as wide and falls off. It didn’t affect what I was doing, but I can see where 2 items that are thin may have some issues being clamped and held together while gluing/melding/welding them together.
