  1. Josephine –

Great ratcheting bar clamp. Used it on a number of project and it’s going strong. I like that I can use it for spreading as well. Unfortunately the tightening lever is quite small, so you have to put some force into it to get high clamping pressure, and when you do that, the release button is far too tight and you end up finding something apply pressure to it to release.Pro’s:- Nice quality for the price- Able to put good clamping pressure with some force- Able to use for spreading as well.Con’s:-Tightening lever is quite small- Release button is very hard to release when clamping pressure is high

How easy it is to use works really well

I got one of these for building myself a new coffee table. I was initially skeptical of how cheap this bar clamp was compared to ones sold at Lowes or Irwin (which is even more expensive). I happened to have some extra points on a card so I picked the first one up to see if it would fit my needs. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received the item. The bar has a hefty feel to it and the clamps were really well designed. I particularly like the button for releasing the clamp. I love Irwin, but the press down and release mechanism can be somewhat finicky. With this one, it was easy and I didn’t have to worry about accidentally pinching a finger. Also who doesn’t like buttons? I suspect my Irwins will last forever, but you definitely get a good bang for your buck with these. I just ordered a second one.

Broke the second time using it! I was enjoying the product the first time I used, worked great. Second day of use, trigger broke immediately.

  5. Rupert –

I purchased three of these clamps because of the decent reviews and price. For a hobbyist that works with wood, I¡¯d say these are average. Within 6-8 months, two of the clamps stopped working and wouldn¡¯t tighten on my projects. I found the company¡¯s website, which stated, ¡°we guarantee our products, no matter what.¡± So I emailed the company and they quickly sent me two new ones. Within 3-4 months two more stopped working (unknown which ones since I didn¡¯t keep track of the replaced ones). You just have to decide whether or not you want to pay double for Irwin clamps, or take a chance on these. As cheap as these are, I¡¯m planning to buy more. Customer service was great and that¡¯s why most people stick with products. Hopefully they will replace the other two clamps that no longer work.

  6. Compassionate –

These clamps will not not tighten as much as I needed (for wood working)…. They slip past a certain point so I needed to get out my bigger, (clumsier) pipe clamps to get the job done…. I’ve read some have hacked the mechanism for a tighter fit, but this seems like it’s really a lot weaker than it ought to be for a this size clamp….

  7. Stephen –

Used to put a 85 year old table back together that was hand made. Had to re-glue it along with the 35 year old cutting board which is now being repaired after 6 years.

  8. Desmond –

I use clamps for hobby projects, gluing, and crafts as well as the odd furniture repair. This is my favorite style and favorite size. It clamps really quickly and releases very quickly. About the right size to work for most jobs.I’m not going to use the metal ones you have to screw to close any more. These are just too fast and efficient. I have some of this style that are much smaller (4 inches) for gluing little things). 5 stars!

  9. Eloise –

Up to this point I¡¯ve used spring clamps. This ratcheting clamp is far more useful to me. The jaw faces stay parallel and work better holding objects apart from each other or up next to each other. It is surprisingly sturdy though I would upgrade to more expensive clamps for heavy duty projects.

  10. Diane –

First of all, these are very small clamps. You aren’t going to be using these to frame a roof or support 2×4’s, but they do have great applications in smaller scale crafting/woodworking/DIY projects. They work just like the larger, much more expensive Irwin clamps, but for most uses that I encounter in my home wood shop, these do just fine. Obviously they aren’t built for heavy use, but I have found that these are reliable, made well (enough) and work perfectly for most jobs that need clamps of this size. Usually for jobs this small I use spring clamps, but when working with softer woods, those tend to mar the edges of your projects. The parallel clamp pads that these utilize to not have the same issue, and I can feel more comfortable cranking up the pressure when necessary. These are also helpful in delicate situations that require a looser grip with more delicate materials so for $4.00-ish, these are a great buy.
