This tool is convenient because it has it’s own 1/2″ chuck. You don’t have to modify your drill to install the plunge arms. Just tighten your drill on the hexagonal end, as if the tool were a drill bit. When the plunge spring compresses all the way, it will limit the distance the chuck gets to the base, but if you are working with small bits, you can remove the spring, so the chuck can reach all the way to the bottom if needed. The base has four rubber food pads to prevent sliding. They work fine, but they possibly could prevent squaring the drill angle on some small surfaces. Nevertheless this hasn’t been a problem for me so far. The depth stopper works perfectly. I’m completely satisfied with this tool.

I don¡¯t own a drill press so this was a good solution. Found them very easy to use. The only challenge I faced was if you are drilling into a smaller object or into the edge of something then the base of this tools will not be sufficient. I got creative about creating a larger surface for the base to sit on before drilling.

Half the cost of the blue one. I have held the blue one and there is a quality difference, but for me, using it every now and then, this is perfect. Not saying it’s low quality, it actually works as intended.

I wanted to drill 3/4¡± dog holes in my new workbench but I needed to be able to drill them straight and perpendicular to the table. I¡¯ve seen this drill press before and after researching and watching videos it seemed like something that would do the job. After drilling the first hole and testing the fit, it was straight and perpendicular to the table as were then the remaining 49 holes! The press is pretty sturdy and the rubber feet keep it from moving. The handle keeps a good grip on the press when drilling. The spring helps keep the drill bit above the material until you¡¯re ready to drill, even with the drill attached. And the chuck held my 3/4¡± Wood Owl bit tight. For 40 bucks this is well worth the price and will definitely come in handy for future projects!

I ordered this to cut 3/4″ holes in a bench top, I suggest using a piece of scrap wood to attached to the base then drill through it inplace. Use that scrap piece as a base to prevent tear-out especially with forstner bits.Worked perfectly for my need.

This is a very nice press and works great with drill bits, but not so good with paddle bits. I found drilling in with a paddle bit is good but backing out with the same bit is not. It unscrew the chuck from the drill press. Just something g to note when buying.

I dislike nothing. I have not use this product for about 60 years and I could remember using mine religiously. The improvement you made is substantial. You have a very fine product with looks and function. I can¡¯t explain why I have had not had one sooner but my little drillpress did all that was needed, thank you for making a wonderful product . I don¡¯t know where it¡¯s made and I don¡¯t want to no. I just know who did it did a very fine job.

Good quality press. It won’t replace a true drill press for long, but it would be great for portable options. A place to store the chuck key on it would make it close to 5 stars.
