I have an automatic meat slicer and was very nervous when using it even though it has many safety features- it¡¯s a handy machine and I like the way it slices meat and bread so thin but it is not the safest machine to use – these gloves add to that feeling of making it a little safer to use.

First a note on sizing – these are size medium and large. But my impression is that they run a bit small.The large fit me fine (I am an adult male with average sized hands) and the medium fit my wife. If your hands are above average in size these might be a tight fit, though.As for functionality, I’m going to have to hope that they provide the Level 5 Cut Protection that they advertise. I got these for kitchen use. We keep our knives pretty sharp and I want to keep them cutting our food and not us. The gloves are thin, so dexterity isn’t too adversely affected while wearing them.There were no washing instructions included so I went back to the page where I ordered them and see that they can be machine washed (looks like cold or lukewarm water) with no bleach and then hung to dry. That’s helpful especially if worn for cutting meat.I am always careful when using knives, but these gloves will hopefully make up for any mistake I might make – thereby preventing a trip to the ER. I have always tried to follow the ounce of protection being worth a pound of cure philosophy. These gloves will help keep me on that path.

These are awesome, I wear them for my mandolin…… They work great, I’ll try to take photos next time. So far I’ve used them on Apple’s, egg plant, I’ll be using these for anything I can cut up with the mandolin

These have saved my fingers using the mandolin slicer. I had an incident by cutting my finger off the first time I bought a mandarin slicer and needed these. Works great because I still have my fingers!

I bought these because after I sharpened my knives, I did not want to cut myself when using them in food preparation.The gloves work great. They are easy to put on and clean up very easily. You do lose a little feel with the non-cutting hand but not much.Not sure about heat resistance because I do not use them for anything hot.

I was so happy to get this set of gloves. Now I don’t have to worry about myself or my teens getting cut while preparing food. I had previously cut myself badly on my mandolin slicer, and had placed the slicer on the shelf since then. I’m now happy to be able to get it out again without fear of cutting myself, or my teens getting cut on the knives when helping cook in the kitchen!
