The safety design prevents children from accidentally opening the lock and prevents ordinary theft. The left and right sides can be used interchangeably.
Note:
Measurements required to replace crescent lock:
1. If you do not want to re-open the holes, please confirm that the screw hole spacing is 46-50mm/1.8-1.9in
2. If you do not want to replace the hook, please confirm whether the hook extension length (23mm/0.9in) can be connected with the lock.
3. The distance from the central axis of the lock to the edge of the crescent is 20.5mm/0.8, and confirm whether the turntable can catch the hook.

Hoping these were the right size and YESSS they are. Excellent. For when my family slams the window closed with the latch flipped to lock. Ok, logic dictates this will never happen, but like quantum tunneling, it does. Often. Now I can replace them without new holes and fuss.

Purchased to replace a broken lock – this was identical and only took minutes to install. Note that my windows were installed in 2010 and there are other similar locks – be sure you are getting the same style if replacing, or that the distance between screws is the same.
