I went 10 years with my door swinging open on its own so I finally bought this. It was such a GREAT purchase! I didnt want to screw into the wall or door so this was a great option. Super easy to install. I read in other reviews that to cut down on the magnetic pull just out a few pieces of scotch tape, so I did until it was the perfect strength.

If you look at the picture carefully, you’ll see that we have a kick down door stop and the magnetic one. This is the second kick down door stop, the first just failed and wouldn’t stay down, so we replaced it before noticing this magnetic one. Where the kick down one relies on springs and your toes, the magnetic one just simply works. Good strong magnet with a satisfying click and simply pull to close… excellent.
